CHANGE A CHILD'S LIFE BY VOLUNTEERING WITH PROJECT MENTOR
Thanks to Project Mentor even the busiest Buckeye can change the life of a child in Columbus.
A collaborative effort between Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio and the Columbus Public Schools (CPS), with Nationwide Foundation as lead sponsor, Project Mentor will help boost the CPS graduation rate from 73 percent in 2006 to 90 percent by the year 2012.
In order to succeed, Project Mentor needs 1,000 mentors by this September, and thousands more by the year 2012.
It’s an easy investment – but the results are very powerful! Just spend one hour of your time each week with a child selected especially for you. Studies have shown that students enrolled in Big Brothers Big Sisters School Based Mentoring programs have increased attendance and improved grades and relationships.
So join Ohio State Alumni Association president and CEO Archie Griffin and support Project Mentor. Together, we can change children’s lives and transform our community. Call (614) 839-KIDS (5437) or visit www.projectmentorcolumbus.org for more information.
