BUDAPEST, VIENNA & PRAGUE DISCOVERY ITINERARY*
Day 1
Depart your gateway city for Budapest, Hungary. (Flight provided for Air Package participants only.)
Day 2
Upon arrival, transfer to the Hotel Opera Budapest. (Transfer provided for Air Package participants only.)
Tonight, gather with your fellow travelers for a festive Welcome Reception.
Day 3
Included Excursion: Highlights of Budapest. Travel through the Buda and Pest sections of the city to see its many landmarks, including Heroes’ Square, the Castle District, Parliament Building and Fisherman’s Bastion.
Day 4
Enjoy the day at leisure to explore the city, or join this afternoon’s optional excursion.
Optional Excursion: The Puszta. Travel to the Puszta, or Great Plain, where you will be welcomed with a reception of hot, crackling scones and apricot brandy. Afterwards, enjoy an exciting show featuring the acrobatic skills of the renowned csikós, or Hungarian “horsemen,” then savor a lunch of traditional Hungarian specialties complete with lively Gypsy music.
Day 5
Included Excursion: Bratislava. Depart Budapest this morning and transfer to Vienna. Admire the magnificent scenery along the way before stopping in Bratislava, the capital of the Slovak Republic. Explore the historic Old Town and enjoy lunch in the city.
Upon arrival in Vienna, transfer to the InterContinental Wien.
Day 6
Included Excursion: Highlights of Vienna. See Vienna’s most stately sights, including the Houses of Parliament and the many historic buildings along the Ringstrasse, one of the most impressive boulevards in the world. Visit the Imperial Apartments of the Hofburg Palace and spectacular St. Stephen’s Cathedral.
Day 7
Enjoy the day at leisure, or join today’s optional excursion.
Optional Excursion: Wachau Valley. Witness the beauty of the rolling hills in the pastoral Austrian countryside as you explore magnificent Melk Abbey. From Melk, cruise a picturesque section of the Danube River to charming Dürnstein. Enjoy a delicious lunch on the banks of the Danube River.
Day 8
This morning, depart Vienna for the scenic transfer to Prague, Czech Republic.
Upon arrival, enjoy a delicious lunch at the famous Pilsen Restaurant before checking into the Radisson SAS Alcron.
The remainder of the day is at your leisure to unpack, relax or begin exploring this beautiful city.
Day 9
Included Excursion: Highlights of Prague. With the guidance of a local expert, discover the highlights of Prague, the graceful City of One Hundred Spires. See the Charles Bridge, the Old Town Square and many more of the most memorable sights of the city.
Day 10
Enjoy the day on your own, or join the optional excursion.
Optional Excursion: Prague Castle. Visit Prague Castle, including stunning St. Vitus Cathedral and the Royal Palace. Walk along the magical Golden Lane and descend the Old Castle steps before returning to the hotel.
This evening, gather with fellow travelers for a special Farewell Reception.
Day 11
Transfer to the Prague airport for the return flight to your gateway city. (Transfer and flight provided for Air Package participants only.)
