2008 NOMINATING COMMITTEE

Five active members of the Alumni Association, two of whom currently sit on the board of directors, have agreed to serve on the 2008 nominating committee. The committee will select three individuals for openings on the board, to take office in September.

Board treasurer Jeffrey R. Rodek ’75, ’76 is chairing the committee. Rodek is a general partner of Accretive and a senior lecturer in Ohio State’s Fisher College of Business.

Serving with him is board member Stephanie J. Peters ’86, partner with Patton Boggs in Washington, D.C.; Elaine H. Hairston ’66, ’67, ’70 of Pataskala, Ohio, senior consultant for Academic Search in Washington, D.C., and chancellor emerita of the Ohio Board of Regents; Michael A. Lanese ’86, chief executive officer of ClearSaleing in Columbus; and Tahira Rehmatullah ’05, research analyst for Perry Capital in New York City.

Candidate considerations
The nominating committee will consider the following general criteria in evaluating candidates:

Relevant leadership/executive experience, including board experience and community involvement
Key influencer
Alumni Association membership
Graduation year and college
Demonstrated commitment to Ohio State
Diversity: geographical area, gender, race, and academic and professional expertise
Team player
Sense of humor
Special skills

The committee thanks all those who have submitted an application. The deadline for nominations has now passed, and candidates will be notified of their application status in the spring.
